Sensational Babies: Meeting sensory needs in early intervention
Sensory Processing Disorder and Autism are now recognized earlier in development than ever before. Early Intervention professionals must meet the sensory needs of these little ones. In addition, they learn how to help parents deal with developmental issues that arise. This 2-hour webinar discusses sensory modulation difficulties and the resulting impact on sleep, self-soothing, feeding, social interaction, speech and language development, and fine and gross motor skill development. Participants come away with resources and strategies to promote modulation and facilitate typical development. Our early childhood webinar package also includes this course.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of sensory processing issues in babies and toddlers.
- Understand assessment options for identification of sensory issues in the birth to three population.
- Identify the benefits of using visual support systems in meeting the sensory needs of young children.
- Select activities to support babies and toddlers in their daily routines based on their sensory needs.
- Identify intervention strategies to support issues with sleep, feeding, bathing, dressing, social interactions, play, and motor skill development.
