Description
Assessment of Executive Functions in Children and Teens
This 1.5-hour webinar provides an overview of essential elements in the process of evaluating and assessing Executive Functions (EF) in children and teens, specifically those demonstrating challenges such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, learning disorders, and other developmental delays. A review of current research on EF development is followed by an exploration of common coexisting conditions and implications for learning and development. Evaluation is viewed through a three-tiered process, including highly formalized instruments, rating scales and inventories, and informal observation and interview. Multiple instruments are evaluated, and case studies are utilized to provide information on linking assessment to intervention. This course is also available in an executive functioning webinar package.
Learning Outcomes

- List four conditions that put children at great risk for weak EF skill development.
- Critique the advantages and cautions of each of the three tiers of evaluation.
