PRESALE: LEGO®-Based Therapy: Evidence-Based Strategies to Support Social, Cognitive, and Executive Functioning Skills

LEGO®-based interventions offer a structured, engaging, and evidence-based method for promoting social communication, cognitive flexibility, executive functioning skills, and resilience in children with autism and other neurodivergent profiles. This 2-hour webinar introduces the core principles of LEGO®-based therapy and demonstrates how collaborative building tasks can be used to target communication, problem-solving, regulation, and peer interaction.

This approach is cost-effective, highly motivating for children, and adaptable across professional settings, including occupational therapy, education, mental health, coaching, and telehealth. Topics include learning how to set up sessions, facilitate roles, support success, and embed therapeutic goals throughout the process. Participants leave with actionable tools they can use immediately to support neurodivergent learners through hands-on, collaborative play.

Learning Outcomes

  1. State the definition of LEGO-based therapy.
  2. List the benefits of using LEGO-based interventions with neurodivergent pediatric populations.
  3. State one strength, limitation, and barrier of using LEGO®-based interventions with neurodivergent clients.
  4. Identify how LEGO-based interventions can complement other therapeutic approaches.
  5. Identify how occupational therapists can implement LEGO®-based interventions into day-to-day practice across a variety of settings.
