Jerrod Brown, PhD, is a professor, trainer, and consultant with multiple years of experience teaching collegiate courses. Jerrod has also been employed with Pathways Counseling Center, Inc. in St. Paul, Minnesota, since 2003. Pathways provides programs and services benefitting individuals impacted by mental illness and addictions. At Pathways, he has had extensive experience working with clients diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders, serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI), trauma- and stressor-related disorders, substance use and other addictive disorders, and sleep disorders. He also has had considerable experience working with criminal justice-involved populations. Jerrod has also provided consultation services to caregivers, professionals, and organizations on a wide variety of topics including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD), confabulation, suggestibility, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and youth firesetting. He is the founder and CEO of the American Institute for the Advancement of Forensic Studies (AIAFS) and the editor-in-chief of Forensic Scholars Today (FST). Jerrod has completed four separate master’s degree programs and holds graduate certificates in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Other Health Disabilities (OHD), and Traumatic-Brain Injuries (TBI). He is certified as a Youth Firesetting Prevention/Intervention Specialist, an Anger Resolution Therapist (CART), a Thinking for a Change (T4C) Facilitator, a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Trainer, an Autism Specialist, Digestive Health Specialist, Gut Health Specialist, Stress and Mindset Coach, Sleep Science Coach, and a Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP). In addition to these certifications, Jerrod holds a micro-credential as an Executive Functions Consultant (EFC) and has completed the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Suicide Alertness for Everyone (safeTALK), and the Mental Health First Aid USA certification training courses. He has published numerous articles and book chapters, and recently co-edited Forensic Mental Health: A Source Guide for Professionals with Erv Weinkauf (Brown & Weinkauf, 2018).
