Sleep and the Developing Brain
Professionals working with children and teens are keenly aware of the critical importance of sleep to a child’s daily performance. But how much do we know about sleep, and its effect on brain development? Do we have the evidence to share with parents and professionals to influence changes in sleep habits? This 90-minute course provides an overview of how sleep affects brain development and daily function, identifies key risk factors for sleep disturbance and disorders, and provides tips and resources to implement into practice immediately. The presenter provides participants with practical, manageable strategies to help families develop and maintain sound sleep hygiene habits.
